Eden Mills is a small village situated 15 km east of Guelph Ontario, and 5 Km south west of Rockwood Ontario, tucked off the main highway this gem is often missed by travellers on the Highway 7 corridor. Be sure not to miss out on the charm the village of Eden Mills has to offer.
One can imagine the days gone-by: the mill workers eating their lunch by the mill-pond or the guests from one the three hotels strolling the "main street" perhaps discussing the dance floor gossip from the previous night, or perhaps there is a line-up at Marshall's general store. A lot has changed over the years but the village continues to offer a unique lifestyle hard to find in Southern Ontario.
For over 25 years Eden Mills Writer's Festival has been the jewel of the village's volunteer works and most recently sites have been set on becoming the first Carbon Neutral village. It takes dedicated volunteers and organizers to come together to organize these undertakings. There is also the community hall committe which offers monthly speakers, workshops, musical events, pot-luck dinners, and provides space for the gardening/exercise/seniors clubs to mention a few.
Eden Mills is a great place to live - community spirit at its best.
Eden Mills Writer's Festival - Since 1989 Literary event that brings Canadian authors up close and personal while maintaining small environmental footprint.
